Zeggen dat Drivers License een hit geworden is, is wel een serieus understatement op dit moment. Ook de opvolger zou misschien iets kunnen gaan doen, want die is nog wel weer in orde. | |
What does the loud drumming remind me of? "We Are Young" is what I first assumed but then might have been my brain combining the Glee reference. There's a solid tune here which I hope grows on me more. 3.5 | |

I'm not saying is average, is just when it hits the loud drumming part in the chorus I am not familiarized with the whole catchiness. | |
The first thing that stands out with this song is the references. Glee even did a version of "Uptown Girl" so it's not much of a stretch of the imagination. It ends up being one of the best sticking points in the song for me because of how knowingly mundane it is. It could be anything really but just the notion of being so bitter about the break-up process that you're mocking the entire dating system for how shamelessly transparent it is, it really fascinates me. Can't really say Olivia is NTA in this situation but there's some self-awareness to it. Also what a fascinating sounding song. Perhaps the closest thing you can get to hearing drone sounds on the radio since The Bloody Beetroots, but packed alongside these drums that could maybe go for sounding even bigger, but they reach a nice balance as is. | |
