4 1/2 punt.

The somebody bits are reminding me of Whitney Houston despite not being a cover/sample or maybe it is I don't know. Mediocre at best. 2.6.

Nothing special.

Lazy and rather mundane, well and truly in the mediocre category of hits at the moment. 2.25

Somewhat enjoyable, but nothing all that special.

I'm also pretty sure that chorus is a blatant sample (with a slight switch-up) of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)". That is pretty much all I could pay attention to the first few times I heard the song.

EDIT: For some strange reason, the more I've been hearing this song, the more I'm starting to like it (even if it is only a slight increase).

There's nothing particularly special about the structure of the song. You can just tell when you're listening to it that it repeats Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus over again.

Also, during Natalie La Rose's parts, I always feel like it's going to break down in to Tinashe's "2 On", and during Jeremih's parts, he's going to break down in to his other song "Don't Tell 'Em" (I always feel as if it's going to do something like this: And we ain't gotta tell nobody/ We ain't gotta tell nobody/ Don't tell 'em/ Don't tell 'em/ You ain't even/ Don't tell 'em/ Don't tell 'em/ You ain't even/ You ain't even gotta tell 'em/ Don't tell 'em/ Don't tell 'em/ You ain't even/ Don't tell 'em/ Don't tell 'em/ You ain't even/ You ain't even gotta tell 'em/ Don't tell 'em/ Don't tell 'em).

What I've written in this edit don't exactly sound like reasons to like the song, and they aren't. These are just musings I've had since I originally reviewed the song.

3* -> 3.25*

The chorus is a bit memorable but the verses seem like they will be forgotten. The opening beat is good and it's a relief that I don't have to hear "Mustard On The Beat" at the beginning of it.

I really like the way she pronounces her name, that alone earns her an extra star. Other than that this is a nice spring hit, definitely above average. A very interesting use of the Whitney sample.

It's nice but doesn't really go anywhere, also you can't dance to it. But I still like it for some strange reason.

Honestly, this doesn't get enough credit; even with the amazing intro and all. It's incredibly fun and inspired for what it is, the beat is instantly engaging and so are both of their vocals. I think it's the 'homage' to "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" is really well put together with the rest of the song and retains the fun of the original, while in-keeping with the urban feel. It is unfortunately a little short (much like "Trouble") but it just all works really well and it's definitely one of my favourite international hits of this year so far and I like that it's success has been so instantaneous, especially considering that it grew on me almost as fast (despite not expecting it to! :D).

Gaat wel. Een krappe vier.

Edit 15/05/2015:
Één van de betere nummers uit het voorjaar van 2015!

KB's review perfectly sums it up for me too. The problem for this song though is that the three aforementioned songs (I Wanna Dance With Somebody, 2 On, Don't Tell 'Em) are far, far superior and this is really a bit lazy and I would rate it lower if it wasn't her debut so I'll cut her some slack. The production would be a highlight for me as well as the verses.

I love it!

This has done well to salvage another star because I was surprisingly able to enjoy some moments of this. Otherwise this style and genre still completely bores me.

I apologise if I am unintentionally and unknowingly repeating something that has already been said.

If you look up the word 'Bop' in the dictionary, you're wasting your time because it's right here. Vaguely mimicking DJ Mustard, but with more life to it making it sound so fresh and summery. I'm not convinced this is a star-making performance from Natalie, but she does at least convincingly inhabit the vibes.

A tolerable song, slightly annoying from the lyrical similarities to 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody'. Surely to be someone's club jam. For me its mostly meh. 2.8*
