Can't believe I rated something on 'what I've heard'. Nonetheless, I have now heard this and can't say it's all awful but it's not great either. Michael Buble is boring and tends to strip the songs of joy, which he does to AIWFCIY, and, to a lesser extent, Feliz Navidad. He has a nice voice though and he uses it to his advantage. Still, this is certainly set to appeal to a certain sector of society that I am not a part of, and thus, I would struggle to listen to this by choice. Average to me. 2.9/6. Well, it's Christmas Day and all my Christmas festivities have finished so I decided that I should might as well spend the rest of the day listening to this Christmas album. I think it's great that artists can make Christmas albums every now and then. It's a great way to celebrate the event and it's interesting to hear an artists' interpretation of famous Christmas songs. Michael Buble has his own very distinct style and this album overall has been a very pleasant listen. Occasionally a few tracks were a little samey and some tracks didn't work as well as others but I really enjoyed it on the whole. Some of the songs such as It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, Holly Jolly Christmas, Have Yourself A Very Little Christmas and I'll Be Home For Christmas were exceptionally great and really put me in the Christmas mood. Haa to say that this is my go-to christmas album, year after year. Some may say it´cheasy or kitch, but isn´t christmas a bit like that? Like the song selection, arrangements and his soothing voice. Merry christmas! |
