Agreed with the previous (and upcoming) comments about comparisons to material from '808s & Heartbreak'.
A weaker lead single than 'Runaway' and 'Black Skinhead' to be completely honest, but it's still a good track; very raw (minus the autotune).Laatst gewijzigd: 03/01/2015 12:50
I'm not sure how much I like this in comparison to his other songs, but I'm really happy that he's making music like this again after a lot of dark, twisted fantasies and avoiding self-parody. A song like this will also make the legion asshats who barf hatred at him at every opportunity despite not knowing a thing about him look like the colossal tools they actually are, which is another bonus.
EDIT: Oh who am I kidding? Nek Minnit "LOOL STOOPID KANYE FANS DON"T KNOW WHO PAUL MCARTNEY IS" articles spread everywhere encouraging the toxic hate comments from the other side of the story, erasing them from public mockery without having them reflect on their own bigotry.
this world continues to test me.Laatst gewijzigd: 04/01/2015 02:52
Strange pairing but is Kanye's best in a while.
Einmal gehört und nie wieder! 3*-
Te veel autotune en te weinig McCartney.
Not awful but contains nothing of interest to me. The tally of Kanye tracks I like remains at one.
And if you're lucky enough to get Paul McCartney on your track, give him more to do!!!
▒ Tegenvallend, doodsaai plaatje en samenwerking tussen twee beroemdheden, eind december 2014 !!! De eerste onvoldoende staat dus nu voor dit gelegenheidsduo ☺!!!
It's very sweet but in a wicked sort of way that only Kanye could emulate. 4.25
Already a big fan of this, although I admit that this duo was a big surprise for me at first.
Of course, people seem to be judging this song on Kanye's personality, the auto-tune, or the belief that all Kanye fans are ignorant as to who Paul McCartney is.
I feel for these people, because their bitterness and clouded judgement means they're missing out on something really beautiful here.
EDIT: This has already moved up to levels of brilliance for me. Really beautiful.

For my own emotional stability, I haven't read or even seen any other reviews here, so none of this is in reply to anyone else, and I won't look here ever again. Also happy mother's day :)
Paul McCartney said in an interview that working with Kanye West was like working with John Lennon. Fair I guess, they are responsible for producing some of the greatest music of the 2000s & 1960s respectively, and both have jokingly compared themselves to religious figures. What's bizarre when you think about it is how the man who loves his wife & child is the pariah, and the neglectant father who beat his wife is untouchable. I like John Lennon, but the types of people who think that way are pretty vile, particularly when the real agenda becomes clear.
If you listen to "Late Registration", one thing you might get out of it is that more than anyone else, Kanye West loves his mum. Or, 'loved', as not many years later, she tragically passed away. This is a sweet little song written in the perspective of his own mother talking to him, about how he's not perfect (:O) but he's her son. About how he should tell his daughter about her grandmother she never knew, it's really heartwarming. Actually the keyboard, though super simple, really sounds nice too. The whole thing just gets me really emotional though, I can't help but love it.
