It can sometimes become quite daunting listening to these old powerhouses when they release new records (with the exception of Mariah) - I feel like that with Whitney Houston and Cher as well, and to an extent Celine Dion. The voice is still there, but she doesn't go for the same big notes that she used to, and that's fine here I guess, but it just feels like something's missing. There's nothing huge to draw you in. It's just the kind of stuff that gets played on easy-listening radio and nothing much else. The title track is one of the better single choices of Celine's late career and the duets are on point here, but it didn't particularly move me or do anything at all for me really. 3.8/6. |
