Hmm......whitout any doubt nice surprise even Evanescence are known for 3-4 years now...but I am not into this album...with smash singles like 'Bring me to life' and 'My Immortal' they proved they values but still not enough for excellent mark!
Completly forgot how amazing and addicted to this album i once was! From start to finish this was just brilliant and after many years not listening to the whole album i've rediscovered why i loved this album so much. The good thing also is the singles as great as they were aren't even the greatest parts. 86 weeks in the UK top 100. 38,500 sold while at #1. UK#1 and Ireland#3. US#3. 1.2 million copies sold in the UK. 7.6 million copies sold in the US.Laatst gewijzigd: 19/04/2015 20:04
one of my favourite albums of all time, nothing bad about it whatsoeever
yup this is a brilliant album, even for a debut it really did things for rock music at the time! i remember it experiencing incredible commercial success around the world! but aside from that this album has personal value, the emotion that amy pours into her vocals and the brilliant songwriting full of metaphors and imagery make this an album that is a must-listen! this went down as one of my favourites of the decade (in my top-ten) and is one of the few albums that is easy to listen to from start to end, with no need to fast forward. standout tracks include the singles my immortal and bring me to life, and non-singles like hello and taking over me.
Goed album met o.a. My Immortal en Bring Me To Live.
Quite a strong album with the singles being the obvious highlights, particularly Bring Me To Life and My Immortal, while Hello is the best of the rest. Easily their best album.
While 'Haunted' 'My Immortal' and 'Tourniquet' are actually pretty good, the rest is just unbearably sullen and generic rock grounded firmly in one-dimensional nu-metal riffing and hacky melodramatic angst. All the 'classical' or 'gothic' elements are completely phoned-in or tacked on and end up making the music unintentionally humorous in it's ridiculousness. Without them, it's just another mediocre commercial rock record from the 00s.Laatst gewijzigd: 26/08/2013 13:16
