I like the artist name "Cheat Codes" a lot more than I like this song, which I guess is a shame. Relatively catchy but the beat drop is not overly exciting.

Edit: Scratch that, this is some catchy stuff.

Boring and completely useless, relying on a stolen hook from a far superior song for any tiny shred of value.

I originally wrote this off due to its lazy sample use, but I am starting to appreciate this track more (as a dance track), and it's getting better with each listen.

Samples from an even shittier tune so of course I'm not going to like it.

A song about sex really should not sound like this. Everything about it feels lifeless and/or tacky, why even bother? The vocals in particular just don't do it for me, they make me cringe in fact. For something that could've at least had some semblance of life, passion or something of interest, it really is just a dull watered down tropical house cover that anyone could churn out. Without a doubt one of the worst tracks I've heard in recent times. A shame that Cheat Codes' entry into the Australian charts is with a piece of crap like this.

Horrendous, actually. Sampling "Let's Talk About Sex" without taking note of that song's context is embarrassing. The fact that what I originally described about the tackiness and lack of passion and effort means it reminds me of my most awkward sexual experiences and just no no no no no no no no no no no no. Also that video was cringeworthy and not even amusing.

Het kan meer maar het is zeker niet verkeerd.

"Let's Talk About Sex" is a song released in the heights of the global AIDS epidemic and talks about how important it is to spread the message of safe sex, in a time when it wasn't quite so widely acknowledged.

"Sex" interpolates the chorus of "Let's Talk About Sex" and turns it into Judd Apatow-level smut (at least when the video accompanies it), removing all the conscious lyrics and making it just 'we should have sex'.

I'm just most offended that someone allowed it to happen. 1.4

I heard it on the Radio involuntarily. I did not like the song one bit except for maybe the beat. Still doesn't do justice on this butchered song.

Oh, I really can't justify this.

I actually reviled this on first listen, and it isn't hard to see why. It lacks quality almost entirely, and is just completely tacky.

I was going to write this whole thing about how draining the context of the song it samples evaporates the meaning behind the song and so on, because there is no way I was ever going to find anything salvageable about this, right?

Because really, I don't think I've ever heard a song which is about such a subject matter that I disliked so intensely early on that I've gone on to like. I guess there's a first time for everything then.

I just keep coming back to it for some reason. It's unhealthy, like an addict going back for another fix. It has to be the production which hooked me, just simply figuring it out by process of elimination, because there is no way it is the voice or the lyrics. Of course, it is a lot of the small things that tide me over here, but once you add them up, it makes up quite a bit. The summer-ish feel, the breakdown, the breathing layered into the beat, those tinkle-y sounds introduced during the bridge.

The music video? Just another Spinnin' Records music video, nothing more, nothing less. Most of their stuff is like that, so this doesn't really phase me.

I feel I may look back on this review with a bit of shame in a couple of years time, but I'd just be lying to you all if I said anything else.

If anything, it shows that people can change and anything is possible in this life, so I have gotten some benefit out of it, I suppose.

A very guilty pleasure for me at this point in time.

I liked this on first listen. It felt wrong considering the context of the original song so I tried to resist, alas unsuccessfully. It's very well produced and the vocals are good. A guilty pleasure I guess.

Just a pile of ugh...do I need to justify it? Poor song choice, even worse vocal interpretation. It had potential but it doesn't go anywhere and relies on the novelty of the original song to be interesting...which I happen to not find interesting. So there you go.

Yet another tropical house track that destroys decent pre-2000s songs and turns it to an utter pile of shit. This dumbed down piece of trash is clearly made to appeal to the lowest common denominator of the masses and is just utterly offensive to my ears. I have absolutely no respect for anyone involved in this shitty garbage and hope to never hear from either 'artist' again.

Love it. Great sexy dance track that actually sounds better than the original to me. I know I won't be popular for that opinion tho haha
